PRINCE GEORGE COMMUNITY HEALTH & INCLUSION COALITION

The Prince George Community Health & Inclusion Coalition (PG CHIC) is a grassroots alliance of vocal advocates who have come together to improve access to information regarding the values of candidates in the upcoming 2022 Prince George municipal election.

Candidate Scorecards:

We will be assessing candidates by bringing together past voting records, public-facing information, and learnings from forums, including our own all candidates forum focused on poverty, homelessness, and the drug poisoning crisis. PG CHIC will be releasing scorecards for each candidate on our website in the coming weeks, focusing on progressive concepts that are necessary for a vibrant, healthy, and inclusive community, regardless of ability, gender, race, or socioeconomic status.

PG CHIC All-Candidates Forum:

Our own all-candidates forum scheduled for Oct. 11 will be unique in that members of UNDU and other residents of downtown who are people with lived and living experience of being unhoused, accessing the illicit drug supply, and experiencing poverty, stigma, and discrimination will be the target audience. This will provide both voters and candidates valuable input from our neighbours who are often talked about while being left out of discussions that have direct impacts on their lives.

Fists in Solidarity

Who We Are

PG CHIC is a coalition of caring community advocates.

PG CHIC has come together thanks to a shared passion for activism and advocacy for the kinds of priorities that are often ignored in the face of short-term gains for a select few, at the expense of others. We are are spurred by our shared belief in the need for courageous decision-makers who are willing to stand up for the long-term health and vibrancy of our community and the planet.

We recognize and acknowledge our limited perspectives as individuals and a collective that does not fully represent all intersections of the community and we are committed to making efforts to address our own blind spots. If you feel you would like to share a perspective that you feel is missing from this very important conversation, please email us at pgchicoalition@gmail.com.
